MAURITIUS.

February 6. During a hurricane, on the 27th January, the British schooner Provee, 95 tons, was driven ashore and became a total wreck. The Mooisfoot, Coulthard, 1051 tons was also driven ashore — total wreck., The Captain and twen^-eight. others perished. The Schan Allum, o large' ship, was compelled to put to sea, and is supposed to have foundered. Freights to London, £8; do., to Australia £2 19s. Stock of sugar on hand, 50,000 tons, principally syrup sugar. Good qualities are scarce. Good yellows held firmly, in expectation of a demand for the Australian colonies. The crop will exceed 25,000 tons. The India and China news unimportant.
