w ORDER IN COUNCIL. Appointing District of Whanganui under Native Districts Regulation Act. G. Grey, Governor. At the Government House, at Auckland on the 23rd day of January, 1863. WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Native Distriots Regulation Act, 1858, " it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time to appoint Districts for the purposes of the said Act, being Districts over which the Native Title shall not for the time being have been extinguished : Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of his Executive Couucil, doth hereby Order, appoint, and declare that the Territory hereafter described shall be a District for the purposes of the said Act, that is to say: All Territory lying within a boundary line otfmmencing at the mouth of the Patea river, thence along the boundary of the Province of Taranaki to the boundary of the Proviuce of Auckland, thence along that boundary tc the Western boundary of the Ahuriri District as oonslituted under the said Act, thence along that boundary to the source' of the Tutaekuri river, thence by a line to the source of the Whangaehu river, thence by the Whangaehu river to the sea, and thence by the coast line to he point of commencement : excepting lands over which the native title has been extinguished within the meaning of •the said Act. And doth appoint and declare lhat the said Distriot shall be called the Native District of Whanganui, And doth declare that this Order shall take effect from and after the first day of March, 1863. TTTHEREAS by an Aot of the General j VV Assembly ofNew Zealand, intituled "The Native Circuit Courts Act, 1858," ■ it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time to appoint Districts for the purposes of the said Act, being Districts over which the Native Title shall not for the time being have been extinguished : Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and I consent of his Executive Council, dolh hereby order, appoint, and deolare that the territory hereafter described shall be a District for the purposes of the said Act, that is to say : All Territory lying within a boundary line commencing at the mouth of the Patea river; thence along the boundary of the Province of Taranaki, to the boundary of the Province of Auckland ; thence along that boundary to the Western boundary of the Ahuriri District, as constituted under the said Aot ; f thence along that boundary to the source ' of the Tutaekuri river; thence by a lino j to the source of the Whangaehu river; / thence by the Wangaehu river to the sea ; f and thence by the coast line to the point ( of commencement ; excepting lands over which the Native Title has been extinguished within the moaning of the said Act. TTTHEREAS by an Act of the General VV Assembly of New Zealand, intituled i " The Native Circuit Courts Act, 1858, " it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time to appoint Districts for the purposes of the said Act, being Districts over which the Native Title shall not for the time being have been extinguished : Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and conser t of hid Executive Counoil, doih hereby order, appoint, and declare that the Territory hereafter described shall be a Distriot for the purposes of the said Act, lhat is to say : All Territory bounded towards the North by the Ahuriri Distriot; towards the West by the Tararua and Rimutaka Ranges, and by a line along the Rimutaka and Tarukirae Ranges to the sea ; and towards the South and East by the coast line from Cape Tarukirae to the boundary of the Ahuriri District at the Waimata stream : excepting lands over which the Native Title has been extinguished within the meaning of the said Aot.
