LOSS OF THE ORPHEUS.
The past year has witnessed the occurrence \ of more than one sad maritime disaster, but ; none wbich present the same ftarful details as ; that wliich it is our melancholy duty to chronicle , to-day. This is not a fitting time for comment i as to the causes which have led to the loss of : the Orpheus, her gallant commander, and ' Xhe 187 brave men who have goue to their i account. Grief at the calamity for the moment overwhelms every other feeling, and we refer our readers to tbe details of the sad story, which i we have, iv another column, laid before them. 1 Those details were written down from the narrative of tbe steward of the Wonga, who was an eye witness of the harrowin g scene, and are as full and correct as could be obtained.
