ARRIVAL OF THE "A IREDAL E," WITH ENGLISH INTELLIGENCE TO THE 3rd December.

[A portion of the following appeared in au Extfa. published last evening.] By tbe Airedale we have received intelligence of the arrival of the European Mail at Sydney. The Airedale left Manakau on the 25th inst, having been detained a day waiting for tbe arrival of the Claud Hamilton with the English Mail. We regret to learn that Aucklaud has been again visited by a disastrous fire, and property to a considerable amouut destroyed in Queen Street. We reprint the following Telegraphic Summary from the Sydney Morning Herald. Through the kindness of Capt. Kennedy, who has courteously furnished us with files of papers, we are enabled to present our readers with the following summary of European and American Intelligence : — ARRIVAL OF THE RANGATIRI AT ADELAIDE WITH THE ENGLISH MAIL. ENGLISH NEWS TO 3rd DECEMBER. (FROM OUR ADELAIDE CORRESPONDENT.) Adelaide, Monday, 12th Jan., 10 a.m. The Rangatiri, (s.) arrived at Glenelg, after a passage of 108 hours from King George's Sound. The P. and 0. Company's steamer Madras arrived at ths Souud at 11.30 a.m. on j the 7th instant, having left Gatle on the 19th I December. Her Majesty is at Windsor. Prince and Princess Louise of Hesse aud the Princess Alexandria of Denmark are on a visit to Her Majesty. The Prince of Wales and the Crown Prince and Princess of Prussia are visiting Malta. The Queen has formally assented to the marriage of the Prince of Wales to the Princess Alexandria early next April. Parliament was prorogued until the 13th of January. .Sir Charles Trevellyan has been appointed Indian. Finance Minister. Dr Colenso, Bishop of Natal, published his work denying Historical Credibilily of tbe Pentateuch. Tbe distress among the cotton operatives is rapidly increasing, 450,000 are now receiving relief. Large sums are being collected throughout the country and colonies. Tbe London subscriptions have already reached £6000 per day. Manohester raised £90,000 from one meeting and general subscriptions. . The Exhibition'finally, closed on November 15. There was no public demonstration. Andrews, mauager ofthe Manchester City Bank,, bas defrauded the Bank of £120,000. The fight for the Championship was won by King, after a severe contest of twenty-one ! rounds, which lasted thirty-eight minutes ; the I fight came off early in the morning of the 26th J November, and twenty carriages started for the scene. The tickets were eagerly purchased at three guineas each. Four steamers were wait- j ing for the train at the Thames and Avon, so ' that they might cross tp where Mace and i Brettle fought' should the police interfere, j The Great Britain made the passage to : Kingstown # in fifty-nine days. The Female Blondin, the heroine ofthe Crystal Palace, has been removed from St/| Bartholomew's Hospital a cripple. Anoiher terrible colliery accident, three miles from Newcastle-on-Tyne, sixteen killed. Every probability of Prince Alfred being offered the Throne of Greece, but it is not likely to be accepted. The British Minister at Athens has been instructed by the Home Government not to influence the election. Garrotte robberies are again prevalent in London. Sir Edward Barry has been visiting Dublin, j and Trinity College has resolved to confer on j him an honorary degree. I Tbe Crystal Palace likely to be converted into a railway station. Hon. J. P. Vireker, has been elected Lord Mayor of Dublin. Large numbers of promotions are noticed in the 'Army Gazette in honor of the Prince of Wales' majority. Anew company is forming in Loudon — capital £200,000, shares £10— calling themselves the Queensland Wool Company. . The chief of the secret police at Warsaw was fouad assassinated in his own house. < Several taxes hitherto exclusively laid on Polish Jews have been repealed. England, France, aud Russia have agreed to a policy. Non-intervention in Greece is promised. Government announced its intention to keep the revolution witbin Grecian frontiers. The Turkish' Government have issued a proclamation designed lo bave the effect of promoting the culture of cotton
