December B—Crest8 — Crest of the Wave, schooner, 80 tons, Woodgate, for Lyttelton. December 9— -Alert, cutter, 12 tons, Short, for Wairau. Passengers — Miss Kennedy, Mr Cook. CLEARED AT CUSTOMS. Decemher 9 — City of Nelson, schooner, 40 tons, Hooper, for Manawatu. December 9 — Fanny A. Garriques, brig, 18 tons, Woodcock, for Lyttelton. EXPORTS. In tho Fanny A. Garriques, G. S. O'Halloran, agent — 103 head cattle, O'l-lalloran. The ship Asterope is fast filling up, and will sail about the end of this month. Besides 50 tons of chrome ore, she has shipped from 1100 to 1200 bales of wool, about 18 tons black oil, 15 tons tallow, 25 tons salted hides, and other cargo. The Asterope has a gold room ; and on a former occasion, carried £20,000 of gold from Geelong to London. This vessel offers a capital opportunity to gold dealers to ship direct to the mother country, as she is in splendid order aud made tlie i run home from this port last year in 83 days. The j following are the names of tho passengers who have engaged their cabins : — Mrs and Miss Wakefield, Mrs C. R.
