Original Correspondence.

NEW .ZEALAND STEAM NAVIGATION COMPANY. To the Editor of the Wellington Independent. Sib, — There has been a good deal of talk about sending home a competent person, to superintend the building of two steamers. Why not at once employ Mr. James Kelham ? he is a very old ship owner, ship broker, underwriter, &c, and eminently suited for the purpose; Mr. K. would not only take a pride in doing so, but see that the work was efficiently and honestly performed. I am, &c, Colonist.
