London, August 26. The Australian June mails were delivered in London on the 16th and 21st August. Her Majesty was to leave Scotland for the Continent, September Ist. After visiting the King of the Belgians she intended to remain for some weeks in strict seclusion. Parliament was prorogued by Commission on Angußt.7th, until 24th October. Her Majesty's | Bpeech is in effect that her relations with foreign powers are friendly and satisfactory — that there is no danger of any disturbance of peace in Europe —and that she will strictly conform to the doctrine of neutrality in affairs of America. This declaration was received with great satisfaction everywhere but in America. Ihes Court Journal states tbat the marriage of the Prince of Wales with the Princess Alexandria of Denmark will take place next year. Her Royal Highness the Princess of Prussia was confined August 14th, of a son. The Prince Consort Memorial Fund Committee agreed to a report, wherein they propose to erect opposite to Coldbrookdale Gates in Hyde Park, an architectural base fur nine groups of sculpture, surrounding a statute of Prince Albert, and on the other side of the Kensington Road to erect a large hall for meetings' connected . with science and art. ' I * The Great Exhibition continues successful. Great Eastern sailed for New York on August 10th. ,800 passengers, and 2500 tons cargo. Distress in Lancashire and Yorkshire greatly increased. & Tho Queen has given £2000; the Pacha of Egypt, ;£1000; London £25,000; and Liverpool £25,000 to relief fund.
Such facilities will be shortly offered to cotton planters in India as will enable England to be altogether independent of America for supply of cotton. Largo quantities of paper, specially manufactured for Bank of England notes, has been stolen, and forged notes printed thereon. Assassination and turbulence frightfully increased in Ireland rinder systematic organisation. The Bench has ruled that it is not in the power of any priest to absolve men concerned in them. Mr. Roupell, late M. P. for Lambeth, has confessed to a series of forgeries, including a will, purporting to be his father's, and squandered <£300,000 within five years. He is committed for trial. The endeavour to establish the new colony named l?rinceland finds little favour in England. Immense excitement in Wiltshire and Hamp shire owing to malignant and contagious disease breaking out in large flocks of the best breed of sheep. Professor Sirnonds declares the disease to be smallpox. The Government do not intend to recal the troops from Canada.
