WHERE IS MR, CRACROFT WILSON ?
According to the st.iteine:n of Saturday's Advertiser, which we quote, —
His Excellency arrived . at Wellington yesterday evening, from Wanganui, accompanied by Air. Cracroft Wilson, C.B.
The same journal of September 30th, announces in its Shipping List " that Mr. Cracroft Wilson was a passenger in the Airedale for the South, on the previous day." Now, as it js perfectly clear that miMcles o,ia scarcely happen in this age of modern science, the gentleman in question could not therefore be übeqnitous, or in two places at one time, and therefore we are reluctantlj forced to the con
elusion that our contemporary in Its last statement has fallen into one of those egregious and unaccountable blunders, which are quite an exception iv the annals of journalism. We would be utterly at a loss to imagine what could be the cause of (his mistake were it not lhat we observe iv his last issue a most elaborate art;^ on "The Hearing and Feeding o! Pigs," fin. l ,ye have therefore at once charitably concluded that an intense devotion to " The Philosophy of Bacon," has been the means of completely weaning the Editor's mind from all such commonplace considerations as the arrival of a Governor uud his suite.
