Henry Macr — Defendant charged with having used threatening and abusive language, provocative to a breach of the peace, Adjd. to the 23rd. Pickering v. Edwards— Debt £2 4s. 4d. Judgment by conseut for amount. Pickering v. Turnbull— Debt £4 16s. 4d. Judgment for Defendant with costs. Sarah , S larks, charged with drunkenness. Fined 20s. and in default committed to the Common Gaol at Wellington for seren days. Wednesday, Sept 24th, 1862 Joseph Fredman v. Thomas Grady, a private soldier of the 14th Regt. — Prisoner was charged with having feloniously broken a pane of glass io the prosecutor's shop window; and stealing therefrom two gold watches and one silver one. Prisoner was taken into custody at the time by several civilitns who were passing, and the watches found upon prisoner. Remanded to the 25th instant. Thursday, 25th September. 1862. Alfred Hewitt v. John Turner — Assault (adjourned case). Fined 40s. and costs 16s. Edward A. Carlyon v. Win. E. Taunton — Debt. Adjourned to 29th instant. Wm. John Gandy v. Geo. S. .Newman — Debt, Settled out of court. Wm. M. Bannatyne v. Emma Lumsden— Cattle Trespass. Settled out of court. Same v. Bridget Desmond — same offence. Settled out of court. John Boyd v. James Barber— Cattle wandering at large. Fined 2s. and costs 6s. 6d. Wm. Cooper v. James Barber — same offence. Fined ss. and costs 6s. 6i. Geo. Wall v. Clarence Lansdale — Debt. Friday, 26th September, 1 862. Begin* v. Thomas Grady, 669, (remanded case). — The prisoner, a private soldier, was charged with having feloniously stolen and taken away certain watches from the shop of Joseph Fredraau. The charge was fully proved and prisoner was committed to take his trial at the next sittings of the Supreme Court. Elijah Wilton was charged with permitting his cattle to wander at large. Fined 2s. and costs. Margaret Gill was charged with drunkenness. Reprimanded and discharged. Daniel Dason was charged with having refused to perform his duty on board the barque Harriet Armitage as articled seaman of the said vessel. Committed to the common gaol at Wellington for the space of ten weeks. Monday, September 29th, 1862. . Stuart v. Wills.— Debt, £3 13s. 6d. Judgment for ainonnt and costs. Stuart v. Pickering.— Debt, £4 10s. 7d. Adjourned to the 30th instant. Allen v. Wallace.— Debt, £18 Lss. Parties called, no appearance. Bergen v. Wall.— Debt £10. This was an actiou to recover the sum of £10, the amount of & ten pound note on the New Zealand Bank dropped at the house of defendant, picked up and alleged to be given to defendant. Adjourned, till the Ist October, 1862. Jervis v. Harris.— Debt, £3 7s. s£d. Parties called, no appearance. Carlyon v. Taunton. — (Adjourned case) Debt, £3 13s. 6d. Judgment by conseut for amount. George Robinson charged with drunkenness. Fined 205., and in default committed for seven days with hard labour.
