JOHNSTON & Co, WILL SELL BY PUBLIC AUCTION, On Wednesday, the 3rd September, at. Hoc lock 8 MERINO "RAMS, \ Landed ex Blanche, on 2 " EWES j the ] 2th June last. These Sheep are of Ihe purest Saxon blood, selected partly out of a Saxon Electoral Negretti Flock, which has been many times awarded prizes at Agricultural Exhibitions in Berlin, Dresden, Leipsig, Munich, and other places ; partly out of a Saxon Escurial Negretti Flock, belonging to His Excellency the President of Crosigk. The latter flock descends from the celebrated sheep of Rotlischonberg and from the royal flock of Lohmen both of Saxony. Ihe average weight of clean-washed Wool of Ml grown animals is four pounds for a Ewe, and fully seven pounds for a Ram. The selection was made with due regard to head and legs being woolled, as well as to the closeness and fineness of staple, as much as this could be combined. AFTER WHICH, 60 Rams, fifteen months old, the produce of pure Merino Rams, imported from Germany in 1860 for the Otaki School Establishment out of Ewes the produce of Rams imported by Mi*. Beauchamp.
