That this Committee will make the ne-... cessary provision -. for defraying the cost, of A the system of Civil Government now in operation for the Native Inhabitants of New Zealand, to aiL amount not exeeeeing £50,000 per annum, for,aT period not exceeding five years A provided nomaterial reduction is made in the. Military force now in the colony during that period. 2. Th<*6 the expenditure on account of the Civil Government of the Natives, , after deducting tho Imperial contribution thereto, should be charged upon the ordinary revenue of the Colony. 3.* That it -is advisable" the - Executive /. Govern^ * ment of the colony should be empowered to raise a loan not exceeding £LOO.QQO, secured upon the General revenue of the Colony ,„for the purpose of constructing rb^ds in the ihixec| and^ativa districts of the Northern Island f of Nev*i,* ; s Zealand.
