A heavy north-easter, however compelled her again to put to sea without having completed her loadiug. She managed to get back next day with a south wester, and finished taking in her cargo. The same evening the wind increased to a gale, and she was blown off shore, losing one of her anchors ar.d smashing the stock of the other. After three more days at sea, she ran for Wellington, her provisions falling short. She left Wellington on the third day on her downward voyage, but was compelled by a strong north-wester to put into Kaikora peninsula, where she lay that night.
