MOTION AND ORDER PAPER, FOR TUESDAY, 29th APRIL. Motions. I. The Orown Lands Commissioner to move — "For leave to bring in a Bill, to make provision for the preservation, and protection of Trigonometrical Stations, and the boundaries, and Survey marks in the province." 11. The Pbovincial Solicitor to move— " For leave to bring in a Bill to provide for the management of the General Cemetery, at Wanganui." 111. The Provincial Treasurer to move — " For leave to bring in a Bill to make provision for the payment of a salary to the Auditor, and Deputy Auditor." IV. The Provincial 'Ireasurer to move — " That in the opinion of this Council it is desirable to proceed with the erection of a Cus torn House and Post Office, on the reclaimed land, Lambton Quay, without delay." V. Mr. J. H. Wallace to move — " For a Return of what monies have been expended upon public works in the City of Wellington from the 24th of May, 1861 (the date of the last Return), to the present time, excluding reclaiming Land, Larabton Quay, specifying generally the nature of the work done, whether by contract or otherwise." VI. Mr. J. H. Wallace to move for a return of all Moneys expended on the Reclaimed Laud and BreastWork in Wellington — to whom paid, whether by contract or otherwise, with full particulars of all contracts relating to the same ; such Return to date from the last Return furnished in Session VII. of this Council — and to be continued to this date." VII. Mr. J. H. Wallace to move—" For a Return of Moneys expended by Grants in Aid from January Ist, 1857, to the present time, — specifying the locality where the amount has been expended, naming the street or otherwise — also specifying the amount contributed by the public. VIII. Mr. J. H. Wallace to move—" For a return qf all applications for five shilling land, applied for in the province of Vyellington, with full particulars ot the quantity, the name of appliant, and the run, or district, where situated : also, full particulars of such five" shilling land as is already certified to by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.'' IX.. Mr.J. H. Wallace to move— "That a respectful Address be presented to His Honor tbeSuperintendent.requestingbim to haveaMap upon a large scale, immediately prepared, of the province of Wellington, shewing the freeholds, the boundaries of runs and names of runholders, and quantity in each run, the purchased lands in the province, the native reserves, lands under lease from the native*, with the names of flic holders, and evefy other detiil necessary for enabling the intending freeholder to distinguish readily, lands still open for purchase." . Thursday, Ist May. I. Mr.J. H. Wallace— " To ask leave to bring in a Bill to establish a Municipal Corporation, for the City of Wellington." Wednesday, 7th May. I. Mr. Carter to move — " For leave to bring in a Bill to re-apportion the representation of the Province in the Provincial Council." The Crown Lands Commissioner to move, on an early day — " For the appointment of a Select Committee to take into consideration the propriety of Amending and Consolidating the various Highways Acts ; with power to call for persons and papers."
