\yß direct attention to Mr. J. H. Wallabe's sale of the " Criterion Hotel," and other valuable freeholds which will take place at the " Criterion Hotel" on Thursday, March 27th at 2 o'clock,

f- Th£ Coloseij OtfEfiA TfcofcPii.-~.By tl] v Airedale, there has arrived a company of sins * ers, somewhat similar to the San Erancisc 3 " minstrels. The new company, which call c itseli " tbe Cosmopolitan Band and Colon re< . Opera Troupe," consists of six gentlemen, wh have be<;n making the round of the Australia! c colonies, and are last from Otagro and Canter c bury. The press speaks well of their perform ances, which are of a more varied charade: r than those of the San Francisco minstrels, am s this evening the public will have an opportunity <>f,. judging for themselves at the Odd Fellows Hall. The stay of the Troupe is limited, as ii i> pioceeds to Nelson per first steamer. Lyckuji Theatre. — Last evening, according to announcement, this Theatre was opened foi a short season, by Mrs. W. H. Foley ; and, as l we anticipated, there was a crowded audience 3 to welcome this lady back to Wellington. The pieces selected for the occasion were the petite r comedy of " Where's the Governor," and th^ 1 laughable extravaganza of the " Happy Man/ with an interlude of singing and dancing. Both pieces were played with great spirit, and t the audience seemed highly delighted with the 5 entertainment. Mrs. Foley was very warmly received, and at the close of the performance, 1 was called before (he curtain to receive the i applause of the audience. We have not space , in our present issue for a more extended notice of the entertainment, but cannot help alluding ' to the excellent playing of Mr. Swan, especially , in the character of Paddy Murphy in the Happy May, which drew- down thunders of applause.
