Speed; I box apparel, 1 gun, W. Webster. The brigantine Sword Fish, put back on Sunday evening last, having encountered a southerly gale on Sunday, off the Kai Koras. Captain Roberts reports having seen several head of cattle floating past the vessel, off Cape Turakarae, sup posed to have been thrown, over either from the Wonga Wonga or W. B. Dean. She sailed again last evening for Otago. The brigantine Triton, from Melbourne and Nelson, arrived in this port on Sunday morning last. She brings no news of importance. The brig Louis and Miriam, Captain Vandervard, from Sydney, arrived at the Heads on Saturday evening, and came to her anchorage in Lambton Harbour at 7 o'clock on Sunday morning. She sailed from Sydney on the 7th instant, and experienced fine weather until makjng Cape Farewell, on the 1 3th instant, since when she has had light winds and calms. Captain Vandervard reports having spoken the Lord Ashley on Thursday, the 18th instant, about 40 miles to the westward of Cape Farewell, bound to Sydney j and also having seen two brigs in the Straits, steering to the eastward. The s. s. Storm Bird, Captain Mundle, sailed from Wellington, on Tuesday, the 11th instant, at 7 p.m., arrived at Lyttelton on Wednesday, at 6 p.m., sailed again at 7 p.m., and arrived at Otago on Friday, the 14th, at 2 a.m. Left Dunedin on Saturday, at 5-30 p.m , arrived at Lyttelton at 4 p.m. on Sunday, and sailed from thence at 530 the same day, and arrived in this port at 8-30 p.m. yesterday. She started with about 70 passengers Jrom Dunedin, has left some at Lyttelton, and brought on the remainder here. ~ i i ;
