SIR GEORGE GREY'S VISIT.
The S.E. gale which sprung up ou Saturday afternoon, aDd still continues, renders it highly improbable that Sir George will arrive to-morrow. The Storm Bird might get as far as the Kidnappers, but no farther. It is of course useless to speculate on. the time or day when His Excellency will enter our harbour, but every effort will be made to apprise the settlers, both town and country, of the steamer's coming in sight. : The General Committee meet this afternoon to receive the reports of the numerous sub-committees, when the final arrangements will be concluded. We trust that in doing so, the committee will bear in mind that every portion of the programme should be carried out in the spirit of affording the largest possible scope for the individual co-operation, of the public — that the various demonstrations should be so arranged as to price, &c, that every portion of the publio may have an opportunity of joining in. them .
