The French Imperial store ship Laßonite, Lieut Jonan, commanding, which has been in this port for the last three or four weeks, took her departure for Port de France, New Caledonia, yesterday morning, at 7 a.m, going down the harbour with a light southerly air, but spanking down the gulf, with sum sails low and aloft, with an increasing breeze. The conduct of the ship's company during herfctay here, was such as to elicit the approbation of the community, and her officers were much respeoted by those who bad the pleasure of their acquaintance. In all probability, this is not the only occasion on which La Bonite wi.l shew her bunting in the Waitemata, as it may depend upon the Governor of New Caledonia whether she shall come again for further supplies. - On this occasion she has departed with 100,000 feet of kauri timber, 140,000 shingles, and a very handsome gig (built by Carr of Official Bay) for the Governor of New Caledonia, with which Lieut Jouan has expressed himself much pleased, and for which he has given i Mr. Carr. a first class certificate.— New Zealander, January 13.
