The Masters for German, and other Modern Languages, Maori, Geology, Botany, &c, have not yet been appointed. NELSON COLLEGE will open, after the present vacation, on the 3rd of February. Terms : — For the usual Course of Education, £8 per annum; French, Drawing, and Music, extra. Board and residence (including washing) , £50 per annum, payable quarterly in advance. An exhibition of £5 per annum will be given to «ach pupil whose parents or guardians reside within the Province of Nelson or Marlborough. Pupils, not Boarders, may dine at the College, at a charge of I6s. per month. . j Every pupil must be upwards of nine years of age, able to read fluently, and write from dictation, | and know the first four rules of arithmetic. Further particulars may be learnt from tbe Secretary, Mr. Bbaithwaitb, to whom applications are to be addressed. A Prospectus of the College, giving full particular? of the building, school regulations, masters' testimonials, &c, with views and plans of the College, is preparing for publication. The firing to be open to any person sworn in aa a Militiaman since the Ist January, 1860, and all members ef Volun. teer Corps (Officers of both Foicea included.) All intending competitors to send in their names on or before the 20th March, to the Senior Officer of ttie Corps to which they belong, who shall forthwith cause lists to be^compiled from the names sent in, but if he considers any such person whether Militiaman or Volunteer, shall not have attended, when required, sufficiently regularly at drills, parades, training or exercise, he is authorised to prevent such person from firing for the prizes. Four Rifles with cases, presented to the Volunteers in New Zealand, by the Messrs. Hebbert and Co., of London, will he competed for on Monday, the 3rd of March next, All intending Competitors to send in their names on or before the 20th of February next, to the Senior Officer of th« Corps to which they belong. Any information with regard to the Regulations for the prizes will be given at the Militia Office, Thorndon Barracks, any day from 10 o'clock, a.m. to 2 o'clock, p.m. By order JOHN S.
