Company, the following particulars relating tJ the Wonga Won*?tt, for whose safety serious fi^prehensions were entertained. The s, a. Wonga Wonga sailed from Wanganui on the Ist instant, and notwithstanding that every effott was made by Captain ilenner, he waa unable to reach Taranaki, in consequence of a severe N W. gale and head sea. When the Wouga Wonga loft Wanganui, there was every appearance of a shift of wind to the southward, and Captain Renner proceeded on his passage until uoon of the 2nd, when he was compelled to bear up for shelter, and brought up under Kapiti the same evening. The weather moderating on the following day, the Wonga Wonga started at 0 p.m., and had reached within cix miles of Cape Egmont at noon of the 4th, when a strong gale from the northward sprung up, and after thrashing to. windward for five hours in hopes that the gale would abate, Captain Uenner was reluctantly compelled to bear up for Nelson, where he arrived about noon of the sth instant. Birth. — At Wellington, on Saturday, the 4th met., the wife of J. E. Smith, Esq., of a daughter.
