Our annual regatta, which, for tbe last three years, has been suffered to remain in abeyance was revived on Tuesday last, with great success; in fact, we believe that more people weir present at it than bad been known at any of its predecessors, notwithstanding that the wind during the day was of that boisterous character which is seldom witnessed in Nelson. We caunot but say that much praise is due to Captain Clouston, Mr. J. S. Cross, Mr, Askew and others for having so successfully revived our regatta. Friday, January 3. An Amateur Race, wilh four-oared boats, between some Government officers and others of our citizens, took place yesterday, consequent on the decision of the seventh race on Tuesday last, in which the Government officers were successful. The boats which were pulled on Tuesday last by either party were tbis day exchanged so as to prevent any misconception that tbe race depended upon the boat rather than the rowers. The race was again won by the Government officers. — Examiner, Jan. 4.
