The English fftnds, in particular, have materially advanced. • Colonial Government Securities have shared in the. general improvement. ' Great excitement has been occasioned in the Stock Exchange by the announcement that Mr. Cooper, one of the largest jobbers or (je'alers in Consols, with a million of stock open, was unable to meet his liabilities at the monthly settlement on (he 10th instant.
