, We (Mattland Mercury,) have reciyed papers from Hobart Town to the 18th instint, and from Launceston to the 19th, from which We extract the following intelligence;- . 1 V Schoolmaster p,or. half Castes ; — The House of Assembly on the 11th instant, passed an address to the Governor for 150, to provide a schoolmaster for the ,• half castes on the Furneaux Group. Mr. Grant, in moving it, said he believed there were in the islands 120 persons and 60 children, the' remains of the aboriginal race, and that they had rendered much service to distressed and aast.awav vessels.
