The news was conveyed to Napier by tho cutter Aquiila, which arrived there oa Monday last, after a quiok passage of 48 hours. His Excellency landed from H.M S: Cossack^ on Thursday,26th alt., and was enthusiastically received. The Government Offices, Banks, and.other plaoes of business were closed, and the day was observed as a general holiday. It is stated that 2,500 troops were to follow Sir Ge.orge Groy from the Cape.
