Piracy and Murder on Board the Biug North Star. — The pirates infesting these seas have made another successful attack, aud on this occasion on a British vessel, iv which mm der and robbery have been committed. The Biitish brig North Star, was brought into harbour on the morning of 14th May, having left Hongkong only the previous morning, by an officer and two boats' crew belong • ing to H.M.S. Pearl. All particulars connected with this frightful tragedy, we did not attempt to ascertain on boarding her before she anchored. The Captain, who was lying in bed, could scarcely speak from the effects of the wounds he had received, informed us that yesterday evening at 5 p.m., when close to Lingting, aud in the act., of stays, a Chinese vessel which had been hovering about them for some time, suddenly sheered alongside, hove several stink pots on deck and then boarded her. The struggle was short, for the brig's crew (European) were unprepared, and small in number, tho captain had not eveu his revolver loaded. Three men are now lying dead on the deck; the rest are said to be dying. A passenger by the name of Lariski wa3 on board, lately arrived from Singapore, and going in the brig to Japan : he is frightfully wounded. If we understand rightly, one of the men escaped by somo means or other and boarded her H.M.S. Pearl at two o'clock this moraing, where assistance was instantly obtained. The motive for this diabolical and cruel attack was of course dollars, gome four thousand of which were on board. The pirates quickly secured the money, took the chronometer, and left. There were some Chinese passengers on board sitting in the longboat. Everything ia turned upside down, maintopgallant mast and flying jibboom goiui. Tlie captain and chief officer died on the 16th instant. — China Trade lieport, May 27.
