THE GRAND JURY.
The news from Auckland to-day shows that war at Waikato is most imminent. It may occur at any moment. Ought not every effort be made to secure additional protection to this province. The Council did what it could by petitioning the Governor. Can any thing more be done ? Cannot the Grand Jury, which will be summoned next week,make a presentment on the subject ? The times are most critical — no stone should be left unturned.
