SHEEP.
We have been requested to publish the following clauses taken from the Scab a iid from the Inspectors Acts, as the public do not appear to be acquainted w ith them.
Scab Act : Session 1, No. 20.
Clause B.— After any person shall have so registered a brand, it shall not be lawful for any other persou to brand any sheep or lambs with a brand bearing the same mark ; and any person offending against the provisions of this clause shall be liable to a penalty of not less than £5.
Sheep Inspectors Act ; Session 4, No. 8.
Clause 1. — The inspectors of sheep shall in the months of March aud September, or as soon after as possible, in eveiy year, visit the several stations iv their respective districts and examine the sheep thereat and shall report to the Secretary of the Province, in such form as the Superintendent may from time to time prescribe or approve of, whether the sheep or any of them upon any station are infected with scab or any other contagious or infectious disease, and if any, to what extent they may be infected, find all such reports shall be forthwith published in the Government Gazette for public information. Clause 7. — Every person driving sheep shall twelve houis at least before entry upon any station give notice to the owner or person in charge thereof, that it his intention to diive sheep upon or through his station, and every person neglecting to give such notice before driving sheep upon a station, shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding £5, such notice to be given either personally to the owner or person in charge of any such station, or left in writing at the homestead thereof.
