THE attention of all men within the Wellington District, liable to serve in tlie Militia, is hereby called to the following notice. MILITIA NOTICE. Colonial Secretary*. Office, Auckland, llth December, IS6O. The following clause of the Militia Act Amendment Act, 1860, is hereby published for general information and the commanding officers of Battalions and Companies aro enjoined to give every possible publicity to the same within their respective districts. 7 Sections 11, 12, 13 and 14 ofthe said Militia Act are hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof he it enacted that the Senior Officer of every Battalion or Company, or any other Commissioned Officer appointed byhim'shall enrol all the men liable to serve therein ; and any man who shall not within three months after his becoming liable to serve, give in his name age and place of residence to such Officer, in order to be enrolled shall forfeit any sum not exceeding £5. N.8.-— All men (except those who can claim exemption under clause 6) between the ages of sixteen and fifty-five years, both inclusive are liable to serve under the Militia Act Amendment Act, 1860. Kirwan to enrol all men liable to serve in the Militia for tho District of the City of Wellington, including Karori and Makara and suburbs to the south of the city. «SAn Officer will bo in attendance at the Militia Office, Thorndon Barracks, between the hours ol 10 o'ciook a.m., and 3 o'clock p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday from this date until further notice to enrol all men liable to serve within the above named limits. I also hereby appoint Captain Battersbee to enrol the Militia for the Porirua district including the Porirua Road, Ohariu, Horokiwi Valley, Pahautanui and other Valleys in that neighbourhood at such time and place as he may be pleased to direct.
