We are happy in being able to publish the' following despatch from the Colonial Secretary to His Honor the Superintendent, informing him that the dissolution has been granted and that ihe writs have come doivn by the present mail We trust the Returning Officer will issue the ne- , cessary notices with the least passible delay. Colonial Secretary's Office, Auckland, 2nd February, 1861. Sm,— Referring to your Henor's letter No. 12, dated the ISth ultimo, I have to inform you that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to dissolve the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, and I enclose a copy of the " New Zealand Gazette" of thiß day, containing a Proclamation to that effect. Writs for tJie election of a Superintendent. and Members of tho Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington have been transmitted by this mail.
