LATEST INTELLIGENCE FROM AUCKLAND AND TARANAKI.

The Overland Mail from Wanganui, and the arrival of the Shamrock on Saturday, bring vi intelligence from New Plymouth to 27th October, and a few details of what is going on at Auckland. TARANAKI. No further movement of the troops had occurred at the latest date. No i 'ea seems to bo entertained of attacking the natives ; everything indicates that the General is waiting for the attack which it has for some little time past been understood the rebels will shortly make. A native spy, after visiting Wi Kingi's stronghold, reports that the Waikatos, who have arrived in strength, intend shortly "to repeat their former conduct, and plunder, destroy, and murder." This intention has already been carried out. On Friday night, (the 26th October), six houses at Bell Block were burnt, and others would probably have shared the same fate had not a couple of siclls from tho stockade driven the incendiaries away. All persons have been warned from going beyond the protection of the outposts, an 1 a movement toward the town was anticipated daily. It is ajjain suggested that New Plymouth town should be converted into a military post, by the removal of the women and children still remaining, numbering about 800. If the removal does not take place voluntarily it is hinted that compulsion will be again employed. The s.s. Wonga "Wonga has been directed to run to Wanganui once a fortnight. We may therefore expect to receive our next intelligence by Saturday'sove.iland mail.,'
