Spinks ; 8 casks damaged tobacco, 1 drum turpentine, 1 truss, Lavin & Co. The s.s. White Swan, Captain Wilson, from Taranaki via Nelson, arrived in this harbour at 7 a.m. this morning. She left Wellington on the 4th instant, with shot and shell from 11.M.5. Pclorus ; arrived^ at Taranaki the following morning, at 6 a.m. ,_ discharged, and took on board 117 refugees, principally women and childen, with their baggage, and sailed on the evening of the 6th, for Nelson. Experienced heavy southerly weather in crossing the Straits, and arrived there at 6 p.m. , on the 7th , disembarking her passengers naxt morning. On Monday at 3 p.m., sailed for Wellington, and arrived here as above stated. Captaiu Wilson has courteously furnished ua with late papers, extracts from which will be found in our columns. The following vessels were lying at Taranaki when the White Swan left :— the Anne Longton, Traveller's Bride, Wonga Wonga, Ariel, and Kawhai. At Nelson, Captain Wilson left the Airedale going back to Taranaki, and the Lord Ashley about to sail for Sydney touching at Taranaki. The brig Gazelle, with coals for the I.C.R.M. Company, had arrived at Nelson, after a passage of 14 days. The Wonga Wonga had besn engaged by General Pratt, at 4> 1.200 per month. The Robert Henderson, 92 days from the Clyde, was entering the Otago Heads as the Lord Ashley was leaving.
