[Mr. Groom being an old' resident, and much rei' spected, -the good people of Napier determined 1 that the event should not pass unnoticed, and in the evening a large number assembled on the ground opposite his house with musical instruments and fire-arms, and kept up serenading and firing I salutes till a late hour. j Ingpen — Jones. — On tbe 27th February, at St. Peter's, Te Ato, by the Rev.
