SECOND RACE. The Maori Race— value £10, added to a Sweepsiakes of £1 each, owned and ridden by Maories. Meats twice round the course. Post entrances. Catch weights. Second horse to save his stakes. THIRD RACE. The Handicap Race— value £— , added to a Sweepstakes of 2 guineas each, p.p. Open to all horses. - Second horse to save his stakes. Two miles and a distance to be handicapped by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, immediately after the Race for the Gold Whip. FOURTH RACE. The Consolation Stakes — of £— , added to a Sweepstakes of 1 guinea each ; open to all Horses not winners during these races. Post entranoea. Twice round the course. Single event. Second horse to save his stakes. Tn all the above races, three horses to start, bona fide, or the publio money will not be given. Any person entering a horse must be a subscriber to the Race Fund of 2 guineas. All horses must take their age from the Ist Tuly. Mares and Geldings allowed 4 lbs. in all races, except those otherwise advertised. Entrances for all races (except those otherwise advertised) to be made on Wednesday, the 7th March next, at Jillett's Hotel, Hutt, before 4 o'clock, p.m., or at Mr. Homer's, Aurora Tavern, Wellington, before 9 p.m. the same evening. A Hack Race, if time -will permit, after the previous races are over. Catch weights. Entrance £l. Heuts once round the oourse. There will be a distance post in all races except the Maori race AH disputes to be settled by the Stewards, and their decision to be final. Thirty minutes will be allowed between the heats. A bell wil) be rung at the end of twenty minutes for saddling, and the start will take place punctually at the half-hour. In the event of any horse or horses not being at the post within five minutes after the bell rings for starting, the starter shall be at liberty to start the horses then present. Weights and scales will be provided on the Course. All riders must appear in Jockey costume — the colors to be stated at the time of entry. All dogs running over tbe oourse will be destroyed. All notices of Matohes are to be given to the Stewards at the time of entry for the above Races. The Rules & Regulations of the Wellington Jockey Club will be strictly adhered to All applications for booths to he made to the Stewards. c ■ x .
