NELSON.

By the Lord Ashley we bave received files of Nelson papers up to the 31st uit.

The Golconda, fcom London, arrive! at Nelsou on the 27th ultimo, after a passage of 1 10 days from the Downs. She bad a large cargo and a considerable number of passengers, amounting altogether to 103 statue adults. Mr. F, W. Saxton, Mrs. W. E. Nicholson, and family, and Mr. Stratford aud family, old Nelson settlers, were among the passengers.

On tbe 26th uit., Mr. F. Kelling was elected a member to represent tbe Waimea Districts in tbe House of Representatives, in the room of W. T. L. Travers, Esq., without opposition. Mr. Kelling is a native of Germany, and is the first foreigner that has been returned to the Assembly. Mr. Kelling is also a member of the Provincial Council.
