NOTICE is Hereby Given, that Sbai.ed Tkkdehs, {in duplicule,) will be received at this Office until noon of Saturday, the 20ih day of October next, from persons willing to Contract for furnishing the undermentioned Article in such quantities, at such times, and at such places within the Town of Wellington, as may bo directed uy the Undersigned, or by his successor in office, during ihe twelve calendar months commencing the Ist April next, and ending 31st March, 1801, under the Conditions hereinafter specified, viz.:— Firewood, at per 100 lbs, Ist.—The Firewood to be exclusively of Manuka, Rata, Tawahl, Ti Told, Mutapo, Maire, Aki Aki, and Tawa. to be well seasoned, split, and ent in straighfleiigths of four feet, the wood, although paid for by weiglit, according to the Tender, must be delivered by measurement, and slacked for that purpose by the Contractor on delivery, 72 cubic feet being considered equivalent to a ton of 2210 lhe. I 2nd.—The Contractor must have constni'tly on hand in Wellington a stock sufficient for 14 days consumption, from which nlone the issues are to be made; this stock is to be deposited in some convenient yard or spot in or near ihe town, to be approved of by the Undersigned, or his successor in office ; the wood to be always subject to the inspection of the Senior Commissavint Officer, or other person appointed by him for that duty, nnd any porlion obiected to at such inspection must be immediately removed and rerlnced by an article of a saiisfnctory description, foiling which, the Commissariat to 'have the power of purchasing at the ex pense of the Contractor; it being understood, however, that the supplies are not to be considered as finally accepted until actually received by the Troops or others entitled to receive them. 3rd.—Each Tender to be accompanied by a statement signed by two approved persons becoming securities for the due performnnce of the Contract, shouldthe Tender be accepted, the penalty in each case will be the estimated amount of three moiiths contract. 4th.—No transfer of a Contract will be permitted without the previous consent of the Undersigned, or his successor in office. Otli —In the event of the Contractor having a portion of his supply condemned lliiee times during any one calendar month, it shall be optional with the undersigned, or his successor in office, to end the Contract at ouee, and to enforce the penalty of the bend. 6th.—The Contractor to prepare his own acnount monthly, according to the prescribed form, and on producing the same,-with the requisite Vouchers, in a complete state at this office, he will receive payment by means of a Hill upon the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, at par, when the amount is £50 or upwaids—when under that sum payment will be made in cash. 7th.—A Tender once sentin cannot he-withdrawn or altered. Information as to what Tender has been ncccptcil will be given as soon as practicable, aud the Bond must then be completed without delay. Printed Forms of Tomlor, nnd any other information that may be required, will lie afforded on application at this office. No Tender will be accepted unless upon the prescribed form. A. F.
