THE PROVINCIAL Government of Wellington will, in pursuance of the Resolution of the Provincial Council, be prepared to convey to each Immigrant (introduced under their Regulations) as soon as he shall have redeemed his Promissory Note, or Notes, a quantity of land equal in vulue (at the rate of 10s. an acre, to one-fourth of the amount of his Passage Money. For example:— every Iramigraut on redemption of his Promissory Note or Notes, will be entitled to receive lon acres of land for every Twenty Pounds lie shall have paid on account of the passage of himself and family. These Grants of land will be either made out of blocks specially reserved for Immigration purposes in Small Farm and Agricultural Settlements, or in the immediate vicinity of Roads in prncnss of construction or the Immigrant may select the quantity vbich lis shall be declared entitled out .f any lauds open to purchase as rural. In order to facilitate the location of Immigrants desirous of immediately settling ufion land and of being employed on the Public Works, Reserves will be made wherever practicable, along or near each line of road, and will be laid off in Ten acre sections, which the Immigrants wilj be permitted at once to occupy, receiling a conveyance of the same as sooii as they shall have paid the whole of their Passage Money. Regulations. 1. Repayment of the Passage Money to be secured by Promissory Note, signed by the applicant, and one other party approved by Government, paytbleon demand, and of which payment will he required by reasonable instalments, except in case of applicant or surety leaving the colony, when immediate payment will be required, or provision must be made for the samp. 2. As a further security, and to protect the parties ou whose application the Emigrant is brought out the Emigrant himself, (or head of a family where there are women and children) will before embarking, he required to give Promissory Notes, payable on demand, which will be forwarded to the Local Government. 3. In case of any Emigrant applied for, accepting the offer of a Passage, but not presenting himself for embarkation at. the time and place appointed btj the Shipping Agents in England, and so beii)|. left behind, ono hall of the passage money will be forfeited, and must be paid to the Provincial Government on demand, by the Applicants in the Colony, for which the firstinoniioned Promissory Notes will be v security. 4. An allowanco, according to Act of Parliament, will be made by the Shipping Agents tn Loudon, in case of the Ships not sailing to the day. 6. Emigrunts and their personal baggage will be landed free of expeuse. •B.—Rate of Passage Money.
