WELLINGTON, From any one part of the Town, to any oiler part of the Town at per Trip ALSO. For the following services, viz :— Bullock Waggons at per day each. Ox or Horse Carts at per day each. Parties tendering at per Trip, must distinctly specify whether ihe work is to be performed by Bullock Waggons, or by Ox or Horse Cart; and how many of each description they are prepared to hold at the disposal ot Government. . . It must also be stated distinctly w hat portion ol a ton of 2,210 lbs. How many hundred of bricks, and how many Hundred feet of timber are to be eonsideied as a load lor a one horse or o two horse cart, or bullock-waggou as the case may be. . . In the event or a difference of opinion arising be tween the Commissariat Officer and tbe Contractor regarding the weight of a load, the same shall lie settled by arbitration, according to the custom of the service, f}ENEnAL CONDITIONS. 1. Each Tender sent in, in consequence of this advertisement, to be accompanied by a statement signed by two competent persons, expressing then readiness in the eveutof such tender being accepted, to become security for its duo performance, the penalty of tbo Bond to be fixed by. the Undersigned, and these surities will be held strictly responsible for the fulfilment of the Contractor's engagements. 2. Iv the'event of nay Contractor, when cubed upon, refusing or neglecting to comply with the terms of his tender or agreement, it shall be at tlio option of the Commissariat Oflicer to engage any other party to perform the service, and charge tbe expense against the Contractor, or at once to declare a breach of the agreement nnd proceed upon the Bond. . . . . . „ 3. A notice of three months given in wining by either parly to the other from tbe first day of any month, within the period for which the contract is taken, shall be deemed sufficients to terminate ihe Contract at tho expiration of such period. _ 4. Payment will b-mado monthly by a BUI on the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury at pur, or iv cash, at -the option of the Commissariat Officer; but no bill will be granted except m cases where the amount exceeds liliy Pounds. 0 It will he competent for the Undersigned, lo accept one or more of the tenders for the same service; but tho lowest will always have prim'claim, should the Commissariat Officer be sutisiied with the pany tendering and his stiriiies. Oth—The Government are not to be excluded from engaging the services of any other vessel or vessels, provided the contract vessels are not in Harbour, nnd under any circumstances the Government will retain the privilege of Transporting Troops in Mcu-of-inir or Vessels belonging to tho Colonial Government. 7th—The pnrties coulrncling will have to enter into a Donil for tbe due fulfilment of the Contract; and must also name two Sureties iv their Tenders, to become bound wiiu them in the said Uoud.
