New 11a.ce of Anoiuaix.u.s Some time since a paragraph appeared in tlio Umpire relative tn ihu discoveiy, in the far interior, of a new race of Blacks,'' who had no hair on the top oflheir heads, in the place where the wool ought to grow." The account of this most arrangement has been curruboraled by an eyewitness—a Mr. Thompson who is at present residing at Whittaker'sin East Maitlaml, who hits just arrived from the vicinity where those funny aboriginals ruralisc. They areofaeopper colour, and are toll and athletic, much superior in every respect to their dark-skinned brethren. The women are also said to have more claims- to beauty. They showever, are also deficieut'of what is generally aoknowlcged to be" the. glory of a woman." Mr. Thompson it appears, Was at camp on tlie Upper Balonne, with others, on ground hitherto untrodden hy a white man, when he was surprised with v visit from these bald-pated copper-coloured beings. They appeared to have friendly intentions, and ns nothing was noticed in their conduct of an aggressive nature, a conversation hy signs and nods endued. After a while a sovereign was shown to them, when one of them,- picking up a stone, pointed with his finger to the far west and intimated that stones of a similar inscription to the sovereign were to ba picked up on theground, in masses as large as tho stone be held. The place was understood to be some hundred miles in the interior, but they signified their intention of bringing some of these stonos t their next visit. Mr. Thompson intends to
return again to the Bulonne, and to await their arrival. If tliis story be true, the age of w.iii-dlii-s truly has not ceased. The incredulous may, by a visit to Mr. Whitiakers, hear the particulars as we hiivc described them. Maitland Mtrciiiij July 3.
