We -would direct the attention of o.r •readers to an article" printed in thefourtli page of to-day's paper, headed " Building Societies," which we have extracted from the Family Economist, and which we consider well worthy a perusal. '1 he advantages to be derived from such a Societj are there very ably set forth, and we think that an Institution of the kind, properly conducted, would be one of the most useful and important that could be introduced into this community. It would give thi working man an opportunity of purchas ing a freehold, which under other circum stances he could not hope to obtain ; anc would also afford a profitable iuvestmen: for the small capitalist. A prospectus has been issued by a few gentlemen, whe are anxious that such a society should be introduced into Wellington, and who, m believe, would be glad of the co-operation of all who may entertain the same views
