HP HE Members of the Britannia Lodge, M.U.I JL 0.F., contemplate erecting a large Building on Lumbton Quay, as a Hall for their meetings, as well as for a Public School and Library. For Public meetings,and for re-vnions of every, description the Hall of the Institution will be found of the highest importance. Bnt the promoters of this undertaking rely upon their fellow colonists for support on far* higher, grounds. They intend, with the assistance of in- ! telligeiit settlers, founding a Public School, not sectarian, but devoted to the education of children; of all cassesav.d creeds. From the revenue of the Building, it is intended to set apart such a sum shall secure'tho services of iin intelligent teacher, sotbat children may be taught at such a moderate figure as will enable the poorest man in the place to give his little ones that instruction without which there is great danger of their becoming a prey to society in after life.
