THE Members of the Britannia Lodge, M.U.I 0.F., contemplate erecting, a large Building on Lambton Quay, as a Hall for their riieetings, as well as for a Public School and Library. For Public meetings, and for re-unions of every description, tile Hall of thejliistitntion will be found of the highest importance. But the prbriioters of this undertaking rely upon their fellow colonists for support on far higher grounds. They intend, with the assistance of intelligent settlers, founding & Public School, "not sectarian, but devoted to the education of children of all cosses acd creeds. From the revenue of the Building; it is intended to set apart such a sum as shall secure the services of an" intelligent teacher, so that children may be taught at such a moderate figure as will enable the poorest man in the place to give his little ones that instruction without which there is great danger of their becoming a prey to society in after life. A Library will be provided, to which yearly additions will be made, and subscribers to the Building will be enabled to have at all times access to the books.
