AT A MEETING, of the Holders ,of LandOrders of the Secondary Series, held nt the ■ Wellington Hotel on Tiforsday, the 18th inst., Mr. Cuurton in the chair, the following Resolution* were unanimously adopted :— "1. Holders of Land Orders of the. Seconda*/' Series shall be allowed to exchange their Country" Lauds for Town Sections at Wanganui, including", the Company's private estate &c, the country land being valued at £1 per ricre, and the town section!' at such prices as may be put upon them by Messrs.; Park and Cameron ;' any party so taking a town section or sections in exchange which may hay* been, previous to the Ist of October, 1849, in th«" bona fide occupation of a squatter (the meaning of the term bona fide occupation to be determined, in case of dispute, by the Principal Agent of the New Zealand Company and the Arbitrators appointed under the agreement of September, 1849) to giv« such squatters the refusal of the some at the pric_ fixed for the value of the same by Messrs. Park and Cameron as aforesaid, to be paid in three months* from the refusal being offered in writing ; and thai' all such exchanges shall be made upon the following conditions—
" 1. Those parties who, having abandoned their country lands at Wanganui and chosen elsewhere*,intend to retain their present sections, sball be considered to have abandoned their ■"• acre town sections—and this rule to apply to all who may iv future abandon their country land. •' 2. Those who, having abandoned their country lands at Wanganui and chosen elsewhere, intend 'to-re-select in the Wanganui block, shall be entitled either to revert back to their original town section,, or to choose other town sections of an equivalent value—and that a similar rule be applied to those holders of secondary land orders who have never selected at Wanganui, juit intend to do so. "3. All the present holders of Country Lands at Wanganui, shall retain their present town sections",, with the exception of those parties who selected their town sections after the selection of town lands" by the church, and the selection of alternate sections by the Company. These latter parties shall be, at liberty to re-choose the town lands according to __• order of choice, either out of the church tads amf corresponding sections pf the Company, or from any other sections at present open for selection in* that part of the town north of Ridgway-street and ' Taranaki Quay (the north side of Ridgway.stTe#ie and the whole of Taranaki Quay being included.)'. "4. That those parties (viz Messrs. Bell, King. Nixon, and Wilson) who were residents at Wanganui, but have been compelled to abandon tbe settlement, and who have exchanged their country land* at Taranaki and Nelson, shall be allowed to retina their original town sections. . " 2. That all those who, on the 16th. inst., mad* their re-selection of country land, and all others who, having on the 10th inst. given notice of their intention to throw up their country sections, shall before the 26th day of November re-select, shall no» be entitled to make any further re-selectionsy or 14 exchange country lands.for town sections. " 3. That parties desirous of abandoning sections and exchanging country lands for town lands; shall send to the Principal Agent a written statement'of the sections they propose to abandon and exchange, on or before the 2(ith day of next.
