To Parties desirous of having Relations and Friends sent out to New Zealand. IN PURSUANCE OF INSTRUCTIONS received by the Mariner, the Principal Agent of the New Zealand Company is prepared to recommend for Steerage Passages on board the Company's Ships, Persons of the Labouring Class resident in Great Britain and Ireland, whom their friends in the Colony may wish to have brought out, on the following terms: — The applicant must give a written undertaking, jointly with some other resident in the Colony approved by the Principal Agent, to pay „210 within Six Months after the arrival of the Immigrant if an adult. £ii for every child between Seven and Fourteen years of age, and £i for every child over One Year and under Seven. Infants under One Year brought out free. The amount thus charged by the Company is about one-half of the cost of a passage in each case. The balance will be defrayed by the Company. The Immigrants sent for must belong to the class of Manual Labourers working for wages, such as Farm Servants, Shepherds, Gardeners, Domestic Servants, Agricultural Mechanics, and Handicraftsmen. All the adults must he capable of Labour, and emigrate with the intention of working for wages on their arrival, and of remaining in the Settlement to which the passage may be granted. Persons who intend to buy land in the Colony on arrival, or to invest capital in trade, are not eligible on these terms, But special arrangements may be made with the Company's Agent to secure passages for such persons. Good character is indispensable, and enquiries will be made by the Company at home before granting any passage requested. In case the applications should at any time be more numerous than the Company can arrange for, jrefei ence will be given to such as may be prepared to pay a higher amount than those above mentioned if required to go so. The Immigrants must consist principally of Married Couples, who will be required to produce their Marriage Certificates. The candidates most acceptable, are Young Couples who have no Children; and as a general rule, no Family can be accepted which includes ' more than Two Children under Seven Years of Age, The separation of Children from their Parents will in no case be allowed. Single Women, without their Parents, are not admissable, unless they are emigrating under the immediate care of some near Married Relatives, or are under engagement as Domestic Servants to Ladies going out as Cabin Passengers in the same ship. The preference will given to those accustomed to Farm and Dairy Work, and Domestic Servants. As a general rule, Single Men cannot be allowed, except in a number not exceeding that of the Single Women in the same Ship. The Age of Persons accepted as Adults is to be not less than 14, nor, generally speaking, more than 40. The above regulations will be enforced by the Company at home, before granting any passage recommended. On learning from the Company's Agent that any application is accepted by him, the applicant should write to the party to be sent out, directing bim to make application to T. C. Habington, Esq., at the Company's House, 9, Broad Street Buildings, London. Two letters should be sent by different ships. If left at the Company's Office in this settlement, they will be forwarded.
