OCTOBER. ' Plant out cabbage; Savoy's. Brussell's sprouts. Sow beet; the ground should be subtrenched, which wlil prevent the roots from forking ; sow in drills twelve inches apart, and cover the seed lightly with earth. The true blood red is the sort most esteemed for its qualities. Parsnips should now be sown, also leeks, and French or kidney beans. Sow turnips, carrots, onions, cauliflower, and peas and beans for succession. Sow capsicums for pickling. This month is the proper time for planting Jerusalem artichokes, they will thrive in any situation, or io common soil. Gourds and vegetable marrow should be planted this month.
