The cutter Paul Jones, Bathe, master, belonging to this port, had obtained a charter at King George's Sound, for the conveyance of thirty tons of Sandal Wood from thence to China. A vessel with the Sandal Wood on hoard had been wrecked at the Sound, ami. the Paul Joaea had obtained the charter at £45 per month. The cutter Royal William, bound for New Plymouth from Nelson, had been chartered by Messrs. Hooper & Co. to proceed to Auckland with a cargo of ale.
