We have been favoured by a friend with a copy of the Liverpool Mercury, from which we copy the following paragraph :— ; Nkw Warehousing Act.—ln the Economist of the Ist March, we called attention to the importance of taking stock in the docks and bonded warehonses, and we trust that the eleventh clause of the new warehousing act, giving power to the officers of the customs to call on the occupiers of anybonded warehouse to produce any goods in their charge and on failure thereof to pay a fine of £b over and above the duty payable on every package not co produced, has been inserted with the view of simplifying the mode of ascertaining what goods remain in charge of the customs ; but at any rats the clause is so important that we think the attention of merchant?,*nd of wharebouse keepers especiaily t should be directed to it.—See 3 and 9 Victoria, cap, 91,c1au6e v Jl.
