Impromptu on hearing that Major Last, commanding the 99tb, or latf Regiment, wss much vexed at being relieved at the Hutt by detachments of tlip 58th and 96th Regiments, just when there was a chapce of a brush with the natives. D->n't despair, gallnat Major, though too soon relieved From tfae Hutt; we all l*now that your's is not the worst Of our tbiee dashing Regiments : for when fighting begins, '< Ihe first shall be Last, and the Last fhall be first —-^-Communicated.
