By the schooner Mana, D. Mann, master, we have news from the above place, to the 29 h ait. The French eorveUe L'Rhin, Gumm.xlare Berafd, had arrived at Akar. a< from Sydney via the Bay of Islands, convey in/ in eliigence of ihe capture of KawiU's Pah Rua-ueka-peka. The following vessels liave refreshed at Akaroa during this season .—i The American ship Meteor, Sweet, of New London, five mon hs out, with 250 barrels sperm* and 150 barrels black oil. The American ship Commodore* Perry seventeen months ou-, 1200 barrels black. The American ship Amazon, six months out, clean. The American ship Ohioj six months out, clean,. The French ship Manche, was enter* ing Akaroa Heads, as the Mana was leaving. We are sorry to state that a fire had broken out at Mr. Price's station, at Ekolaki, by which, two seven oared boats, whaling uear, casks, stores, &c, to the amouni of £500, had been destroyed. The fire was occasioned by a spark from the blacksmiths' lorge falling on the toi-toi of the boat-sliedjwhich instantly ignited. Mr. Price has been one of ihe most industrious and enterprising of r,ur whalers, and we are sorry to record his loss. An industrious French mechanic has erected at Akaroa a water mill, capable of grinding four bags of wheat in the 24 hours. Two grampuses were lately driven on shore at Akaroa, which turned otit 2J tuns good oil.
