SIR, —I wish, through the medium of your paper to contradict a statement made by Mr. John Guard, to the effect that the " Casks made by Mr. Cave, aii old settler io Cloudy Bay, had all been condemned." Now sir, out of forty tons of casks which ca«e here in the Hannah, consigned to Messrs. Samuel and Joseph, only eight casks h»ve been condemned, after a careful investigation. Thr other casks condemned, amounting to 31, were made by another party. I wish to contradict thus publicly Mr. Guard's statement, sines it is unfair to injure the character of any man who has proved himself to efficient a workman as Mr. Cave. I remain, Sir, Yours, Stc.
