Letters by the overland mail state, that H.M.S. Hazard was under orders to sail for Port NichoU son. It was assumed she would leave Auckland about the 19th April. Mr. Hogg, the sub-collec-tor of Customs, we are informed, is likely to return here by her. The London Times, of the 10th December, advertises the fyne for these ports. Time of departure is not stated. We hear the Tyne is expected at Nelson before coming here. The Joseph Cripps left Sydney on the 14th March for Launceston, where it is stated she was to load Sour &c., for Nelson, at which she may be supposed to be now arrived by this time. The Captain of the Susannah Ann, which arrived a. few days since from the Chatham Islands, reports having seen a great number of

whales to the southward and eastward, a large whale was also seen inside the. Port Nicholson Heads. It is stated that the whaling shipping have been so unsuccessful on the North-west coast, that a large fleet has determined to come down and try the New Zealand coast this season. The Government brig Victoria will sail for Auckland on Monday nest.
