The following are the Signals used at tl, n Flag Stall at Mount Albert. A Square denotes a Ship, "] Wten the A Cross " a Barque, » es *el is A Circle " a Brig, I'««<*« to A Triangle " a Schooner, l^ B^liS t A Diamond " a Cutter, \i^lb' L4Q A Parellelogram" a Steamer, j lowered. Remarks.—A White Flag at Mas' Head de notes a sail in sight; when the class is asceN rained, the descriptive Signal will be hoisted at the Yard Arm. English vessel of war, Union Jack at Mast Head. Foreign vessel of war, Union Jack at Mast Head, with white Pendant. Government brig, white Pendant under descriptive Signal. When a vessel is at anchor, either inside or outside the rleads, the flag is lowered to half mast. A vessel in distress, or on shore, descriptive signal half mast. Fore and aft schooner, a triangle, hollow in the centre.
